What does it mean to be karmically screwed?-Born into a country where screwing over the other guy might be the only way to reach the top, that seems about right to me.
In our society, being a good person, and following the golden rule, leads to being trampled on by your fellow man. I suppose people believing in Karma might take comfort in the thought that the people who harmed them 'got theirs'.
But leaving things up to fate, is that really satisifying? Can I be expected to forgive and forget while holding onto the hope that the person who tripped me in the hallway in middle school is going to fall down the stairs and break their leg the next day? Does beleiving in Karma indicate a vindictive side? Hoping that bad will happen to someone who wronged you? Isn't that a form of ill-will? Bringing bad Karma on yourself for wishing bad Karma on someone else.
